Welcome To My Whole Life

I love cooking! I love shopping for food, prepping food, chopping food, boiling food, braising food, baking food, plating food and eating food, I love it all! I am so excited to finally have a space to share my passion for cooking healthy, nourishing and beautiful food. Over the past year I have learned to transform my life through the food I eat and by the actions I take on a daily basis to commit to home cooking, fitness and practicing mindfulness through mediation and yoga. My struggles to lose weight have been going on for years. Learning to have a healthy relationship with food has become one of the most challenging things I have tried to do in my life so far. What I learned this past year is that it takes considerable effort, time, commitment, passion, focus, determination, strong will and a good supportive group of family and friends to make the kind of changes necessary to lose weight. My hope is that this blog will become a source of inspiration for those of you who have also struggled to manage your weight. I want to share with you all the things I have learned along the way that have helped me finally find some success at losing weight.

Along my journey I have learned that it is not about perfection but about finding the right balance between making good choices most of the time and learning what types of foods to consume that make you feel the very best you can feel. There is no one size fits all solution to weight loss, what I know for sure is that the best answer is the one you find yourself through experimentation and a true a commitment to treating yourself with kindness and compassion. I encourage everyone to find their own path, read books, follow blogs or social networks that inspire you and be honest with yourself about what you eat and how much you move. I wish I knew years ago that success cannot be measured by the number on the scale but should be determined by how you live, by knowing what excites you and gets you out of bed in the morning and by finding ways to motivate yourself to be the best person you can be. I finally found some peace around food and in doing so it has opened up my mind to so many new possibilities. I’ve become extremely passionate about home cooking, the food industry, eating organic local food, doing yoga, strength training and I’ve developed a love for kale so strong that it almost rivals my obsession with tea and chocolate! Join me as I continue to explore the world of health and learn to cook delicious beautiful food. Thank you so much for reading and welcome to My Whole Life!
